When I took my business online I had no clue what I was doing, no education, no training, no plan, no money and no support.
I just started and it sucked in the beginning but through this recipe I went from under $20 000 in annual revenue to over $150 000: in 1 year.
In 5 years my business had it’s first $1 million dollar sales year.
Because I became obsessed with learning and mastering marketing.
Here’s the 3 ingredients I learned:
- A plan
- Clear numbers
Your plan is mostly about the exact process that you will use to execute:
- Everyday I’ll post on social xyz
- Every week I’ll write an article
- Once a month I’ll do a video
Results come from consistent action, not reinventing wheels
This is the most missed detail in marketing, you don’t need to try and learn every platform and get overwhelmed by the whole thing.
You just need to take a little bit of action consistently. 5 minutes everyday on twitter or facebook, with the right plan, will get massive results.
Once you start you need to know if what you’re doing is effective so that you can refine your approach. Everyone that starts will start sucky, some of the stuff you put out there you will want to delete when you look back at it.
Just like learning to run, you have to walk first.
How do you learn to walk? You just start trying and you keep trying until it makes sense.
Getting marketing data is the same, it allows you to know what’s working and what’s not but…it takes time to get good data.
The key to good data is your tools: Are you using tools to know what you’re getting?
All the social platforms allow you to get data like post interaction, likes, shares, comments, etc
The point of data is it guides you where you need to go.
Start by making a plan, the first step is doing research.
